“Judge Not….” Part 2

Rave — Reading and Writing

You may remember a post I wrote a few months ago called “Judge Not….” — all about my philosophy on judging writing contests.

Well, guess what! Today I got an email today which called the comments of my fellow judges and myself “precise, useful, and encouraging.” I’m taking that not only as a compliment, but also as encouragement to continue to hone my judging skills.

It’s so nice to be appreciated.

For this very reason, despite being rather outspoken when I’m unhappy about something, I strive to be equally vocal when the opposite happens.

How about you? Do you complain? Keep your comments, both good and bad, to yourself? Offer compliments when they’re due? Have you ever been on the receiving end of either? I’d love to hear your thoughts, so please leave a comment and share them.
